BERLIN WALL

I have been travelling to Germany a lot of times but it is my first here in Berlin.
Lovely city and full of history.
It was easy for me to tour around Berlin because I have my personal tourist guide so I got to see most of the city's landmarks.
The Berlin Wall left a special place in my heart.
I was amazed by its history.

The Berlin Wall, a symbol of the cold war, was a wall that separated the communist Eastern side of Berlin from the democratic Western side.

The East Side Gallery borders what used to be its "death strip", a highly patrolled area where anyone trying to cross from East to West Berlin was immediately shot.

We walked along the The East Side Gallery with more than a kilometre of amazement,
rediscovering art and the history of Berlin Wall.
The open-air gallery on the banks of the Spree in Friedrichshain is the longest continuous section of Berlin Wall still in existence. Immediately after the wall came down, 118 artists from 21 countries began painting the East Side Gallery, and it officially opened on 28 September 1990. Just over a year later, it was given protected memorial status.

Most of the wall has been demolished, but tourists can still visit preserved segments, such as the East Side Gallery.

Once it was the Berlin Wall but now it's the longest open-air gallery in the world.

To this day, The Berlin Wall remains one of the most powerful and enduring symbols of the Cold War.
