NICE

The French Riviera is known the world over for its glamour and beauty.
Any trip to the Cote d'Azur should begin with a stop in Nice, overlooking the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean.

Nice, the capital of the Cote d'Azur, is beautifully curved round the Baie des Anges.
We spent our entire short break solely on the Promenade des Anglais. La Prom curves almost five miles round the Bay of Angels, the most famous stretch of seafront is punctuated by palms and pergolas.

Started our day by walking along the pebbly shores of Promenade-des-Anglais, enjoyed listening to the street performers, then we plunged into the old town and experienced how Mediterranean Life feels like. Then we climbed up to La Colline du Chateau (Castle Hill). Once you get to the top, panoramic views of the Baie des Anges, Old Town, Nice's Boardwalk, and the varied and vibrant architecture abound.

The Russian Cathedral is the most beautiful Orthodox church outside Russia and the most visited monument in Nice as well.

Then we took a tram along Avenue Jean Medecin and on to Place Garibaldi, a fine square where Nice turns up the Mediterranean Classicism. The statue of a local lad Giuseppe, oversees the bustling elegance.

The Basilica of Notre Dame de Nice stands out as one of the most impressive architectural landmarks of Nice.

Place Massena

Anytime of the day in Nice is lovely, but we enjoyed the evening the best. The boardwalk comes alive with people exercising, tourists strolling and locals walking their dogs. And the sunset? It's absolutely beautiful!

Here's a video of our Nice Escapade. Enjoy!
