FLORENCE

Florence, capital city of Italy's Tuscany region, the home of the Renaissance and birthplace
of our modern world, has the best Renaissance art in Europe.
In a single day, you could look Michelangelo's David in the eyes, fall under the seductive sway of Botticelli's Birth of Venus, and climb the modern world's first dome, which still dominates the skyline.

Of course, Florentine art goes beyond paintings and statues - enjoy a Traditional Florentine food,
fashion and street markets. Sure, Florence is touristy.
But where else can you stroll the same pedestrian streets walked by Michelangelo,
Leonardo and Botticelli while savouring the world's best gelato?

City Skyline as seen from Piazalle Michelangelo.
Not just a perfect photo opportunity, but a moment of wonder.
Looking at the city full of history is so surreal!
The long walk to the very top is all worth it.

The Piazza is filled with tourists and vendors.
People are singing together with a local performer whilst having a nice
hot drink and enjoying the panoramic view of the city.
Florence is the fifth stop in our Europe Tour - January 2017.
We took the Italo train from Roma Termini to Firenze Santa Maria Novella admiring the Italian countryside from our window.
Walking is the best way to see the top attractions in the city centre...
A walk through the city centre isn't complete without a stop at the Florence Duomo
(Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiori)
and climb up Brunelleschi's Dome. Entrance to the Cathedral is free.

Florence is indeed one of Europe's great art cities.
Al fresco eating and drinking, shopping at Uffizi Gallery and as well as enjoying
an open-air arts and concert make this one of Italy's
most vibrant summer destinations.
But if you don't mind wrapping up (like us), visiting the city around
January is delightfully uncrowded & you can find the
best hotel bargains and cheaper flights.

Here's a short video for you to enjoy during our
Rome & Florence, Italy escapade...
